Anointing
The Sacred Art of
an invitation

Anointing is one of the oldest forms of medicine there is.
Long before it was ceremony, it was survival: oil pressed into skin as protection, as blessing, as the thing that marked a body as sacred and worth tending. Sumerian priestesses did it. Babylonian and Canaanite healers did it. It was medicine, ceremony, and rite of passage, all at once, long before those became three different words.

So much of what I do in the therapy room depends on you. You have to find the words. Follow the thread. Stay conscious enough to make sense of what's happening while it's happening.
Anointing doesn’t ask that of you.
It's powerful, and it's gentle, and it works beyond the conscious mind: supporting you without you needing to know or control the process. You don't have to understand it for it to work. You just have to let it happen to you.

You're standing at a threshold: a change, a loss, a beginning, and you need something more than another conversation about it
You want to feel more connected to your own body, not just understand it better
You're touched-out from giving care and have forgotten what it's like to receive it
You want deep rest without having to do anything to get there
You're curious about ritual, and want it held by someone trained and serious about it

You'll fill out a short intake beforehand. There's nothing to prepare and no state you need to arrive in. Your only job is to show up as you are.
-
You'll be greeted at the door and given a few moments to settle. No rush. The space is quiet and already prepared for you.
-
We sit together and check in. You're invited to share what brought you here, what your body is carrying, and any preferences or boundaries around touch. This is collaborative; your pace leads.
-
Because oils go directly on skin, this is often received nude or partially undressed. You choose what's right for you. Draping is always available and adjustable at any moment. You'll have privacy to undress and get settled on the table.

his is where time slows. I use tuning forks, sound, and custom-blended oils applied at different points on your body, adjusting to your breath and your nervous system as we go. The touch is intentional, slow, attuned, nonsexual, and deeply respectful. You don't have to talk or explain anything.
Rest, drift, remember, unwind, whatever arises is welcome. Consent is continuous; you can pause, change, or stop at any moment.
-
Time to slowly return: in silence, in reflection, over tea, however you land. There's no expectation to process anything. Your body already knows what to do with this.
-
Most people feel grounded, softer, clearer, more spacious. Rest, drink water, take it slow for the rest of the day if you can. The effects tend to keep unfolding for hours or days.
You are not just a body.
You are a whole universe.

Anointing is a remembering of your inherent worth, your nervous system's wisdom, your right to be tended to with reverence instead of urgency.
You are entering a space where nothing is required of you. Where your body leads. Where you are held.
I'm honored to walk with you in this.
