A Reflection on Genocide, Earth, Peace, and Freedom

In this present moment, I find myself struggling for words when it comes to the avoidable tragedies happening in the Middle East, especially in Gaza. I am deeply moved by the words of Jimmy Carter: "we will not live together in peace by killing each other’s children." These words reverberate through my being, reminding me of the heavy burden we carry, the tears we shed, and the earth we touch.

A Sacred Pause
My heart, heavy with the weight of all the suffering, reminds me that this pain is not to be silenced or ignored. It flows beyond words, a visceral reminder of our interconnectedness with all living beings. In these moments, I find solace in the gentle embrace of the earth beneath my feet and the vast expanse of the sky above me. In this communion with nature, I am reminded that across the world, people in the heart of war are sitting on the same earth and looking at the same sky.

Aching for Healing
The ache within me deepens as I confront the atrocities committed against our planet and its inhabitants. I grieve for what has been done and what continues to unfold. The cycle of history repeats itself when we fail to learn from it. It is a stark reminder that we must lean in, listen, and learn from the past to avoid perpetuating the same tragedies.

The Call to Freedom
As I witness the repetition of our collective mistakes, I am left wondering: What will it take for us to break free from this cycle of destruction? The truth echoes in my soul—no one is truly free until we are all free. Freedom is not a solitary journey; it is a collective endeavor that requires us to stand in solidarity with one another, with the children and the mothers, with the land and the water.

Embracing Unity and Healing
In the face of this tragedy, there is a glimmer of hope—a hope that resides in our ability to unite, to acknowledge our shared humanity, and to recognize the sacredness of all life. It is a hope that blossoms when we honor the earth's cycles and live in harmony with her. As an eco-spiritual mentor, I am called to guide womxn on their journey toward embracing their sacredness, cultivating a deep relationship with the earth, and harmonizing with her natural rhythms.

Closing Reflection
In the depths of my being, I hold onto this truth: healing begins with acknowledging our shared pain, learning from our history, and standing together in the pursuit of freedom and peace. Let us tread lightly on the earth, nurture our connection with all living beings, and work tirelessly to ensure that no child, no mother, and no creature suffers in vain. Together, we can rewrite the narrative, weaving a tapestry of unity, healing, and love for our precious planet and all its inhabitants.

With love and solidarity,

Aleen
